The original Miuras Mouse®, with the “Horizontal Parachute Effect®” system produced by the four main features of the bait, results in a unique effective movement even at the slowest retrieving speed.
1) Flat Snout. With proportions studied accordingly to model and size, the head is pushing the water while it proceeds. The liquid’s resistance depends on the retrieving speed used (the slower the bait sinks, the quicker it will tend to rise to the surface). This provides incredibly accurate control on linear trajectories, swimming height and sensibility at the fish’s contact.
2) Cork or resin body. Cork showed just the right features to “hold and release” the total weight of the bait to produce an exquisite and unprecedented grace at swimming. The characteristics of cork, after the production of new models made with resin, were taken as a reference and reproduced in order to obtain the same abilities.
3) Bucktail coating. The shaped head, made entirely by bucktail, has the unique ability to slow down the bait and counter its entire weight. The body, completely covered in bucktail as well in a very precise quantity, allows the water within to slow down the bait further because of fluid flow resistance. This same water then is released at the back of the bait, where it produces, together with the grub, a very attractive vibrational swirl, which is different each time depending on the speed and trailer used.
4) Rubber grub. A rubber grub is provided together with the product. It is consistent in proportion, size, weight and movement with the rest of the body. The rear spring, however, allows for a broad choice on the trailer, producing new combinations for shape and vibrations. We advise never to use a trailer smaller or shorter than the one provided, in order not to reduce the movement’s harmony.

All baits on sale are assembled exclusively by their creator. This is the reason why the products are limited in quantity. You won’t find these products in stores: they are available from purchase only from this website.
Miuras Lures’ know-how and Swedish company Catch with Care collaborated for a parallel version, produced in large scale and distributed in stores. Models currently available include Mini, Big, and Magnum, all sub surface and with double tail grub. NOTE: The name Miuras Mouse and the Miuras Lures brand are under copyright, and available at the exclusive usage of Maurizio Carini and Catch with Care.
Make sure you don’t forget Miuras Mouse wet inside a box sealed for a long time. Once you’re finished fishing, always hang it in order to dry it completely. Keep it away from direct sunlight, flames, and hot heaters. If you’re using scent or salty grubs, remove them at the end of the day and clean it with freshwater before drying it.
The Miuras Mouse can wear off ordinarily with time, especially when fishing sharp-teeth predator fish such as pikes. However, it can be very long-lasting, provided the owner takes good care of it before and after every fishing trip. The more it is worn down, the more effective it is.
No bait can be exactly the same as another: deer hair, just as human hair, is unique. Despite a standard process in common across models, working with it requires great experience and adaptability in order to achieve the best result. Thanks to more than a decade of experience, Miuras Lures applies the right quantity of deer hair with the needed adjustments each time.
Maurizio Carini’s Miuras Mouse, both for standard and even more for its “chubby” version, requires a few fishing rounds and a couple of bites for the deer hair to lose its volume and the natural fat it is covered with.
Absolutely. In many cases, the extra weight is very important for its effectiveness. The best spots to add weight on the bait are the head ring, the belly ring, the tail ring, until the soft grub of the bait. Besides Miuras®’ sinkers, already fit for connecting with the head ring, you can find plenty of sinkers in stores which will work perfectly.
A change of grub is suggested as long as the owner believes it is needed. From a single tail to twin tail or paddle tail, it is possible to change into one it as big as the trailer provided or more. Your observations on your fishing spot will be your best advice.
This is not a consumerism product, the “everything right away” way of thinking. It is a made-by-hand craft, requiring hours spent with religious precision and extreme care at each stage of production, with components often delivered from all around the globe. All this, following a recipe developed by its creator in a ten-year-long process of trial and error on the field which produced not a simple bait, but the bait. Remember: the original is Miuras®.
